Can I practice a Zoom session before teaching a class?
This is highly recommended. You can start a Zoom meeting any time from the Zoom app or UIC Zoom portal. Start a meeting on your device and practice sharing your content, switching between shared content, and arranging the Zoom windows on your desktop to find your preferred setup. To simulate what a participant is seeing, open Zoom on another device and join your meeting as a participant. Ask a friend, family member, colleague or a coordinator to join you for a walk-through. For instructional design and remote facilitation tips, contact block directors, clerkship directors etc. to connect you with people with whom you can set up a remote teaching practice session.
